The Crans Retreat
One-bedroom apartment design, Crans-Montana
The vision of this one bedroom apartment renovation project was to create a retreat that feels organic and expansive. Nothing is wasted or left behind, every design element has intention. The black granite in leather finish and wood panels forms the foundation, we paired them with light textiles and walls that catch the everchanging alpine light.
The biggest challenge was scale: making a compact space feel generous. Through a restrained palette and careful layering of textures, the rooms achieve a balance of openness and warmth, simplicity and refinement.
The result is not about decoration but about atmosphere, a space that feels grounded, welcoming and quietly sophisticated. The materials echo the landscape outside, where pine trees rise against the mountains, anchoring the apartment in its alpine setting, much like a junior suite in a mountain hotel where living and sleeping flow seamlessly together.
